Jensen at Gallery 1988 commissioned this little number, a painting for Pete Wentz (of Fall Out Boy and MTV).
The painting is celebrating Pete's 29th Birthday and includes a few of his favorite things.

From what I hear, Mr. Wentz was thrilled and was even kind enough to mention it on his blog.

De plane! De plane!

How cool is this :

Bobbie sent in this pic the other day.
If anyone knows anything about this tattoo, would they let me know?
Bobbie Sweets says: "The tattoo from Bobbie Sweets is on Bobbie Sweets."
Now why didn't I think of that? -m

Here's the original painting from a couple years ago:

The Transplant 16x20 acrylics on canvas

Two more

Here's a couple of paintings I finished up recently.
(both are sold)

Still Dancing 11" x 14" acrylics on canvas

Even though they live in different worlds,
Henry and Lenore still find ways to be together.

Emily Meets a Monkey 12 x 16 acrylics on canvas

"Hello", said Emily.
"Pleased to meet you", said the snowman.
"How do you do?", asked the skull.
"Hola!", said the luchadore.
"Greetings", said the yeti.
"Good afternoon", blinked the eye.

Party like it's 1988

It had to happen sooner or later. I was invited to take part in a real art show.
Not just any art show of course, but Gallery 1988's TOYS show, celebrating Mattel's Hot Wheels 40th anniversary. The show highlighted toys that we played with as kids before video games took over the world.

On April 1st (no really) Charlene and I were in Hollywood for an incredible and overwhelming couple of days.

Here's the paintings I did for the show ( both sold opening night ):

The Heart Collector 16 x 20 Acrylics on Canvas

Sara Finds an Arm 11 x 14 Acrylics on Canvas

a bit of the news coverage:

G4's video clip about the show

a few pics:

This was parked outside.

There were a ton of people.

I couldn't get this dumb grin off my face for 12 hours.
I thought it was stuck like that.
And yes, my head is really that big.

Here's a size comparison:

I stole this picture off Gallery 1988's blog.

Wow, what a night. Like I said. Overwhelming. The talent at the show was unbelievable, and we met a whole lot of people. I would like to especially thank Jensen Karp for the chance, Matt Dangler for being so damn cool, and Dan Goodsell for making us welcome.

The next morning it was Hollywood Boulevard.

My favorite of the stars we walked on that day.

We had time for this shot before it was back up north to our secret hideout:

The slow guy behind Bats didn't make it into the picture in time.

There he is. Flash my ass.
